CNN is reporting that between 1.5 trillion and 2 trillion tons of ice have melted away since 2003 in Greenland, Antarctica, and Alaska. Apparently the ice is melting at such a rate that the glaciers are becoming rivers.
This just shows God is willing to step in where man has screwed things up. I mean, who was the idiot that named the green island Iceland and the ice-covered island Greenland? Now God has just taken over so that Greenland will truly become a green land.
And what is with all the complaining going on here? The chairman of the Arctic Climate Impact Assessment had this to say:
We have seen a massive acceleration of the speed with which these glaciers are moving into the sea. The ice is moving at two metres an hour on a front 5km [3 miles] long and 1,500 metres deep. That means that this one glacier puts enough fresh water into the sea in one year to provide drinking water for a city the size of London for a year.
Solutions for more potable water: DONE! More water, more swimming: everyone wins! So the media should stop worrying about Global Warming and start worrying about the real threats out there!
